One of the most meaningful parts of my work is partnering with the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem to create joyful, confidence-building portrait experiences for neurodivergent individuals. These Personality Portrait events are offered as part of my goodwill work in the community and are rooted in celebration, inclusion, and genuine connection. Photography is truly for everyone!

Personality Portrait sessions are intentionally designed to feel safe, relaxed, and fun. Rather than focusing on posed smiles or rigid expectations, we create an environment where each individual can simply be themselves. We use music to set a joyful beat or quiet tones. We play games. We blow bubbles. We move, laugh, and follow the individual’s energy. Whether someone is spirited and expressive or quiet and thoughtful, the goal is always to honor their unique way of engaging with the world.

For many families of neurodivergent children, teens, and adults, traditional portrait experiences can feel stressful or overwhelming. These sessions are different. Families are welcomed warmly, given time to settle in, and supported every step of the way. The experience becomes one of affirmation — a chance to feel seen, celebrated, and deeply valued.

What unfolds is often extraordinary. Confidence grows. Personalities shine. Laughter fills the space. The resulting black-and-white portraits are timeless and powerful, capturing not just a likeness, but a spirit. These images become meaningful keepsakes that tell a story of individuality, resilience, and joy.
