I am mother to a sweet, happy boy and wife to my wonderful husband, Eric. Eric was made for me, truly.  I am so lucky to have found him.

I love baking what my son calls "mama bread" (sourdough), all things Ben & Jerry's (anyone with an "in" know when "Urban Bourbon" is coming back?!), and loving on our sweet Pit and Rottie rescues Bruce, Bean, and Lucie (plus two skinks!). I consume ridiculous amounts of true crime podcasts, love Stranger Things and The Great British Baking Show, and have always been involved in some kind of artistic pursuit from crochet to singing. I love spending time with my wonderful parents; we are grateful to live nearby.

As a mom, I know how important it is to savor these sweetest and most fleeting moments. Seeing beautiful images of your amazing family every day in your home is one of the best and most lasting gifts you can give the ones you love most—and for yourself, perhaps most of all.

I am excited for you to be here and get to know more about the Emily Richardson experience. Send me a line! I can't wait to hear from you!

Hi, I'm Emily

am thrilled you are here. Pull up a comfy chair, and sit a spell.  I'm so excited to get to know you better.

MY SWEET FAMILY.

My little family lights up my life, gives me hope, and reminds me of what is most important.

My husband Eric and our sweet boy give me more grace than I deserve.

I am forever grateful that I belong to them and they belong to me.

I am so lucky to have found friends who know, accept, and love me for who I am.

You know the kind I mean.  You never have to explain yourself, never have to be embarrassed at your failings, never feel judged, and never go unheard.

I am lucky, indeed.

Good friends.  Really good friends.

I can't live without books. They show me how to pursue a life of doing some good, how understand others, how to have empathy for myself.  A few of my favorites are Jane Austen, David Sedaris, Emily Dickinson, Willy Shakespeare, Kazuo Ishiguro. I've read The Remains of the Day so many times, and yet, every time, I'm shocked and somehow always weepy by the ending.

So....I really like pie.  Like, a lot a lot.

We had pie at our wedding reception instead of cake. Hands down, one of my best decisions to date.

Except, of course, the decision to marry Eric.
That was a pretty good one too.

PIE.

I enjoy my families, especially those I get to see year after year, helping everyone feel comfortable and confident, creating joy and connection in your images, and being your creative director.

Being with you at your session, documenting this amazing season you are in--this is truly one of my favorite things.
